<p>This is the final blog entry of the <em>Cruz at Beijing</em> series.</p>
<p>It was the last evening before the main group left. (I stayed on for two more nights.) We had so much fun getting to know one another in a week, and we ended the trip with a really big bang.</p>
<p>I led my new friends to the night market at Wangfujing&#8230; and unwittingly morphed into a reality show host wannabe&#8230;</p>
<p><center><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2564/3667197531_f328581147_o.jpg"></center></p>
<p><center><object width="500" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Mq0bg2x7LEw&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Mq0bg2x7LEw&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="500" height="340"></embed></object></center></p>
<p><center><object width="500" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5thNZVHQKwg&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5thNZVHQKwg&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="500" height="340"></embed></object></center></p>
<p>The two guys in the first video are my schoolmates. More than one person commented the one with glasses resembles Jaycee Chan. You think so? He&#8217;s also from Hong Kong, by the way.</p>
<p>And I don&#8217;t know how we managed to gather a crowd for the second video. The Isreali guys and the Chongqing girls just stood around and stared. I wanted to try the deep fried stuff, but these strangers ate everything! Hah! </p>

<p>&#8230; &#8230; No, that statement didn&#8217;t come from me<em> hor</em>.</p>
<p>Apart from a regular caller of 6777-3777 in Singapore, I called 4008-517-517 three times in Beijing. 517 517 stands for 我要吃 我要吃. Haha!</p>
<p>It was one of those cloudy afternoons in Beijing. I was rather miffed with the tour guide for constantly re-juggling the itinerary. It was a huge disruption for me, as I had planned to skip several destinations and meet up with my friends.</p>
<p>I decided to return to the hotel that afternoon after he brought the group to a shopping mall. I love Beijing for its heritage, but shopping (and bargaining over overpriced items) in the city is a big no-no. </p>
<p>It was raining cats and dogs when I woke up from a short nap. That number I saw on the advertisement on a cab immediately sprung to mind. 4008-517-517 我要吃！我要吃！</p>
<p>In case you&#8217;re wondering why I didn&#8217;t order room service, I had already done so a couple of days ago. I don&#8217;t mind paying top dollar for good food, but the meals they serve didn&#8217;t warrant such a price tag.</p>
<p><center><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3405/3659478362_22070347a4_o.jpg"></center></p>
<p>I gleefully went online as I was savouring the burger that cold evening.</p>
<p><center><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3076/3658681465_a56e2aa644_o.jpg"></center></p>
<p>I thought sites ending with a <em>.tw</em> would be inaccessible from Mainland China, but it turned out I was able to log on to the Taiwan site for the hotline number. </p>
<p><center><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3619/3658681555_8e2d7c39be_o.jpg"></center></p>
<p>There you go. Apart from being an ardent supporter of McDelivery Singapore, I patronised McDelivery China, and even got people ordering from McDelivery Taiwan. I am THE choice to be its Global Ambassador! Hahahhhhha.</p>

<p>It was cloudy, and rained a bit in Beijing most of last week. A sandstorm threatened to disrupt our plans after lunch on Friday. The video taken at Tiananmen Square was inaudible because of the wind. Gosh, the winds were so strong I actually felt imbalanced for a split second. Really! </p>
<p><center><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3323/3653640490_2e878ec004_o.jpg"></center></p>
<p>Then it got rather warm as we toured the Forbidden City. I&#8217;ve been there before, so I took a couple of videos, instead of concentrating on pictures. </p>
<p><center><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3362/3652861727_156052f399_o.jpg"></p>

<p>Still at the Forbidden City. Don&#8217;t comment that I look fat. Who wouldn&#8217;t look bloated slouching like that. Hahha.</p>
<p><center><object width="500" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/baXtaprzvz4&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/baXtaprzvz4&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="500" height="340"></embed></object></center></p>
<p>At Wangfujing</p>

<p><center><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3366/3635161007_873bbbe6b9_o.jpg"><br />
<a href="http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/文昌星" target="_new"><strong>答案在此</strong></a>。</p>
