Lianhe Zaobao and My Paper revealed today that dried scallops and sea cucumbers are cheaper than before. It is apparently at least 15% cheaper to purchase the latter.

The Straits Times, on the other hand, reported on the same day that prices of CNY delicacies have gone up. Dried scallops and sea cucumbers were included in that list, tagged with a 30% increase.

Can we conclude that the Chinese reporters went to the right places, and that we should avoid the “stores in Chinatown and Kallang” the ST guys surveyed? Ha!
