And the pandas arrived this morning. Everyone goes, “Soooooo cute!”
Former President Nathan was present at the welcome ceremony in his capacity as Chairman of CapitaLand Hope Foundation. The folks at CapitaLand are of course, the people who pumped in money for this loan. They didn’t confirm the amount in response to media queries, but a Wikipedia entry states that American zoos typically pay China US$1 million a year.

Absolutely hilarious. HAHAHAHAHA.
I imagine that ‘Panda’ might be the #1 search item on Google Singapore this week.
FAQ #1: Will Kai Kai and Jia Jia really return at the end of ten years, i.e. 2022? What if they really like their new home?
A: The contract is usually ten years, but San Diego got a five-year extension at half the cost.
FAQ #2: Will we get to keep the offspring of Kai Kai and Jia Jia?
A: No. According to current rules, panda babies, if any, are strictly PRCs — Pandas Reproduced outside of China but still the property of the People’s Republic of China — and will return with their parents at the end of ten years.
I was looking at the River Safari website. Did you know that it will also feature red pandas? Discovered before their black and white counterparts, it was personified as Master Shifu in Kungfu Panda. How cool.

it is being done by Anntonii Lim.
kaikai’s date of application of the pass is wrong. lol…
Haha. We have both kungfu panda and master shifu in the house.
Thanks for the like and sharing of this photo.
The application date was an “intent” error due to prevent this from looking like a real S-pass.. The last thing I want is Authorities calling me to lim kopi after making everybody’s day….
Looks like there’s going to be a panda-monium when they are opened to the public.
Unfortunately, they will be here only 10 years, eat shoots and leave.
