The holiday which didn’t materialize. And the upcoming revamp.
2 March 2012 Friday | 16:54 | -

I had been busy the entire month. Prior to the two-week break, I had contemplated on yet another overseas vacation. Perhaps I should visit Taiwan again, I thought. Friends in the industry offered corporate discounts on hotel bookings, and media passes to the concerts I wanted to attend.

Then there was A, who most enthusiastically passed me her 悠旅卡 (the Taipei equivalent of our ezlink card). And when I said I couldn’t find my Taiwan SIM card, hers appeared in a matter of minutes. There was even a guidebook if I was adventurous enough to venture up Yangmingshan alone for the spring blossoms. Haha!

And then, I decided not to proceed. I told myself five times a day, “I’m heading to Germany, Holland, Belgium and France this June. Champs-Élysées alone will wipe out my unostentatious bank account in a single afternoon.”

No one took me seriously, for I had a track record of making last-minute bookings and flying off before anyone realizes that I was away. Now that it’s Friday, and that I have not made any getaway plans for the weekend, they’ll be convinced that I’m staying put in warm and sunny Singapore.

And it’s also because I have things to do.

In case you haven’t heard, the annual revamp will take place on 12 March. Of the eight DJs in Y.E.S. 93.3FM, seven are changing shifts- some drastic, some minimal- and only one person will see unchanged working hours.

I’ve been in the morning show for eight and a half years now. It’s a pretty long time, I guess. There are people who want me to remain where I am, while others can’t wait to see me go. The announcement will come this Monday.

It will be good if you remain in WRM. But just curious, how come you can don’t change shift for so long??

    可能在早班太久会有点闷,但是为了千千万万的我们。。你再忍忍吧!哈哈
