I think you cannot remember Devan Nair, because his Presidency is short term, he had resigned due to some circumstance, which is not released to the public.
Or perhaps your are simply too young!
I am born in the 70′s. Did not see the first President on TV before, but actually seen the state funeral of our second President Benjamin Sheares on TV.
By the way, there is a bridge named Benjamin Sheares bridge in downtown Singapore.
