Dynasty Travel brought my listeners and I to Taiwan last month. It was my 11th trip there, and my first time exploring the southern part of the island.
There was some pressure prior to the tour. The Taiwan tourism guys were spending big money here, and every other agency had packages lined up back to back. The H1N1 scare isn’t exactly over, and the period we were there happened to collide with several examinations in Singapore. Because I’m sitting for exams myself, and the Singapore Hit Awards had been confirmed to be held last Fri, there was no other option but to go ahead with the two departure dates- 24 and 27 October.
Thankfully, the response was extremely encouraging. WOOHOO!

In view of the Hit Awards, I was reminded repeatedly not to gorge myself in Taiwan. Please lah. No one has ever lost weight while holidaying in Taiwan lor. I went berserk once I stepped into Liu He Night Market. 炸雞排!
Life is short. Play hard and eat hard. Who cares if I look like a ball on stage. People will be looking at Jam Hsiao, Mayday and S.H.E anyway.

Dynasty Travel was the first agency to include gala dinners on their high profile packages. Knowing that I can neither sing nor dance (“My god, what an incompetent DJ!”), they hired a magician to perform. Apart from interaction with the passengers, the guy brought me up on stage twice.
Oscar (魔術師):
志勇先生,我這裡有兩罐汽水。一個是雪碧,一個是可樂。請問你要選哪一個?我(對著台下):
你們猜我要哪一個?觀眾:
可樂!
Well done, my dear passengers!
He poured the contents into a glass and wanted me to drink it. It looked a little suspicious.
我:
Oscar,你知道我是誰,對不對?Oscar:
我知道,你是新加坡 (blah blah blah)我:
要是你毒死我的話,你也會死的很難看哦⋯⋯
Hahahhahha!
We totally enjoyed ourselves that night. Everyone was very spontaneous, from the table games to mass bingo. And a couple of them got up to sing their hearts out!

Before I first led a trip two years ago, several DJs told me it was extremely tedious. It was like working 24/7.
Really?
Nah.
I had the time of my life in Turkey two Novembers ago, and I had plenty of fun in Taiwan last month.
My heartfelt appreciation to Clifford and his team (Dennis, Diana, Catherine and Seok Lee) at Dynasty Travel. The high quality travel experience they promised was as good as it gets. Thank you!

work hard! play hard! eat hard!
