Hoax. zzzz.
26 July 2009 Sunday | 23:24 | -

It’s 2009. And people are still forwarding emails and SMSes hoping to win something. Hello?!

1. It’s funny how boh liao people who initiate SMS hoaxes usually have bad grammar. 60 billion, not 60 billions. 10 people, not 10 person.

2. Under the Anti Spam Act (or whatever it’s called), Singapore companies are required to insert < ADV > when initiating mass messaging.

3. No self respecting corporation the size of these telcos will have smileys in their messages. Emoticons are reserved for casual messaging, and should not find their way into formal communication channels. If they do, it’s time to send the PR folks packing.

I cannot agree more.. When I received the 1st message, I read it and put it aside, thinking “the telco won’t be so generous to give away $49 worth of outgoing calls…”

To think I got back more than 5 of these… (-.-”)

    OMGGG YEAH.

i was simply amused at how people actually believe such crap.

also, wth, i’d be most shocked if m1/starhub/singtel actually reads the content of smses being sent. i mean they’d have to, if they were to really carry such an operation out.

If its true. Why must we forward to 10 people in our own list?

They should have a fix number like “7997″ or “1234″ informing us.
