Very radio drama worthy lor

You know what, I’ve been following the AWARE saga rather closely. As the 2 May showdown approaches, both sides are going all out to garner support. Who says Singapore is boring?

A brief summary of events:

1. AWARE holds Annual General Meeting. A lot of people don’t bother to show up, as usual.

2. New members who signed up just before the AGM turn up in full force, and land nine spots in the new executive committee.

3. Old guards shout, “It’s a consipiracy!” The new people say, “You all sala! Let us put things right!”

4. Two key factors why the tussle hit headlines: Religion and Sexual Orientation.

5. Extraordinary General Meeting to be held. Old guards want to regain control; new exco wants to consolidate power.

The plot thickens during the final countdown.

1. Confidential emails surface, leaders from both sides emerge. The old guards have a field day exposing one ‘secret’ after another. The new exco has yet to cause major damage to the integrity of their predecessors.

2. AWARE EGM to be held at Expo (instead of Toa Payoh). According to the exco, it is because they require a bigger venue to accommodate the large number of new members who are expected to turn up.

3. WayangParty claims that the change to Expo is to “facilitate” voting. The Church of Our Saviour happens to be doing an event next door. New exco chairman and several other members happen to attend the same church.

4. EGM venue changed yet again. It’s Suntec City (for the time being?).

Because I have an engagement at Expo on Saturday, I was contemplating on signing up as an Associate Member. I’m not sure about the fees, but I thought the action would be worth every cent. Now that it’ll be held at Suntec, I’ll just have to rely on Twitter.

Very happening. Very drama. Especially when a 71 year old lady- armed with a law doctorate, was asked by a Ministry to substantiate her claims.

If I do a radio drama adaptation, will it be a hit?

Radio drama is not enough to satisfy the large audience. Make a movie instead. Approach those actresses who failed to get the Star awards (to help they get it next yr). Get Cloudywind to help you: http://cloudywindz.blogspot.com/2009/04/be-aware.html
