Who else failed Art & Craft in four consecutive semesters?
26 March 2009 Thursday | 12:31 | Media

Thanks to Louis from I Weekly, everyone now knows that I failed Science and Art & Craft in Secondary 1. Haha. Here are the rest of my results.

Sec 1 Semester 1
Distinctions in: English, Chinese and Mathematics
Failed: Science and Art & Craft
Remarks: Chee Yong could have done better. He is mature, thoughtful and dependable.

Sec 1 Semester 2
Distinctions in: English and Chinese
Failed: Art & Craft
Remarks: Chee Yong needs to work harder for better results. A resourceful, helpful and polite pupil.

Sec 2 Semester 1
Distinctions in: English and Chinese
Failed: Mathematics (37.8!) and Art & Craft
Remarks: A pleasant and friendly student. Capable of achieving better results.

Sec 2 Semester 2
Distinctions in: English, Chinese and Geography
Failed: Mathematics, Art & Craft and Technical
Remarks: A cheerful and helpful student. Mixes well with his classmates.

Sec 3 Semester 1
Distinctions in: English and Design & Technology
Failed: Elementary Mathematics (18.8! Hahaha!)
Remarks: Chee Yong is courteous and cheerful. He must strive to improve his performance in Mathematics.

Sec 3 Semester 2
Distinctions in: None!
Failed: Elementary Mathematics (31.7- Improved!)
Remarks: Chee Yong is a friendly, helpful and polite pupil. He must work harder.

Sec 4 Semester 1
Distinctions in: None again!
Failed: Elementary Mathematics (39! Another improvement. Hohoho.)
Remarks: Chee Yong is a jovial and generous pupil. He helps his classmates with their work* and sets a good example for others to follow.

Sec 4 Semester 2 (Prelims)
Distinctions in: English, Chinese and Geography. And ECA too!
Failed: None! Muahahahahha!
Remarks: Chee Yong is a responsible and conscientious student.

*Obviously, no one came to me with their Maths problems lah.

I suspect terms like ‘cheerful’, ‘friendly’ and ‘mixes well with classmates’ are synonymous with ‘talkative’. As you can see, I did well in languages- which do not require much ‘studying’. How I got an A1 in Geography is still very much a mystery though.

Apart from breaking test tubes in the Chemistry labs, and other apparatus in the Physics labs, I also broke the hearts of the teachers who told us that constant practise was the key to passing Maths examinations. For the record, I was one of the few black sheep in the ’95 cohort, who didn’t get a distinction for E. Maths in the 1995 ‘O’ Levels. Fortunately, the rest of them did well enough for us to be ranked Top 10 in Singapore that year.

Hahaha. I think your teacher is as uncreative as mine. ALWAYS put capable of better results.

I’m just curious how did your maths managed to drop from distinction from sec 1 sem 1 to failing after which. And it is really rare to find a bilingual person who ace both english and chinese! *claps*

    LMAO. That was funny!

I always feel that the form teacher got nothing to write for the comments, so they just anyhow put. Think 80% of the students recieved remarks about the same as everyone else.

I failed my E maths and A Maths (both never pass even until O’levels) too. HAHA. I really can’t calculate for nuts. Simple calculation also will go wrong.

Eh, how come you have your report book with you? I think our school didn’t let us keep it after the prelims. I wish I had my sec sch report book too. Sec sch was when I did the best for my studies. We took part in the same ‘O’ levels cos I’m also born in 1979! Hee…

“constant practise was the key to passing Maths examinations”

This is true as memorizing formula does not help, you need to apply. Same goes for cooking ya?

Those who are good in language are alway not good in number while those good in number are alway not good in language. This is what I notice and is quite true ya?

art and craft was only there for 4 semesters! you’ve never passed it before! hahahaha! so funny xDD. and i don’t think words like cheerful and friendly meant talkative. cos my teachers straight away used “talkative girl” for my report book lol, tgt with all the “mixed well with her peers” kind of bs.

Wow..I envy you…it’s not easy to ace English
At least your grades are better than mine. I did badly for languages, C6 for O level English.

Talking about the remarks section on my report book, my teachers (from sec 1-4) like to put “she is capable of achieving better results” or “there is room for improvement”. I bet she wrote the same thing for almost everyone.

    March 29, 2009 22:55

haha i also don’t do well in art & craft too! as for my two languages…B only…envy u leh still got distinction!!

My classmates and i thinks that the teacher in the school i attend have a list of words in their computer and that they just copy and paste it in our report thing.
