R.I.P., Mr JB Jeyaretnam
The first opposition Member of Parliament to break the People’s Action Party’s stronghold in 1981 passed away in Tan Tock Seng Hospital this morning.
Political views aside, you’ve got to respect this man who went against the tide and was passionate enough to start a political party at the age of 82(!). From the treatment the former lawyer was accorded in the last two decades, I gather that he must have been seen as a formidable opponent in the eyes of some.
Rest in peace, JBJ.

i agreed with u .. hmm its reali quite shocking 4 me to hear u break the news ..
although we might not know him well .. but who doesn’t noe Mr JB Jeyaretnam when u mentioned his name ..
wad else could we says .. jx hope he will R.I.P .. and “enjoy”..

I was so shocked & could not believe the news when
I heard you annonced it thru’ your morning news tat
day and I really feel very sad
How many of us can really stand as firm & fight as hard
in what we believe?? But he CAN & in his age….HE is
a HERO !! I will always remember him & I think tat tis is
the only way he can really REST.
