Outburst. Overdue.
After years of procrastination, I’ve decided to get myself a degree further my studies, upgrade myself and be a better man. Some of my friends are completing their masters, so I can’t lag too far behind. Haha! More on that if I successfully get myself enrolled in the Jan ‘09 intake.
Anyway, I had a hard time digging out my business diploma and GCE ‘O’ Levels certificate for submission to the university. I’m currently in my first job and I don’t intend to leave anytime soon. Therefore there isn’t a need to have these documents handy. Because I presented the necessary paperwork and attended the interview with the Head of Department- dressed in shorts and bermudas shorts and slippers (me, not her)- after getting my first formal pay cheque, I reckoned that if I ever need to attend another interview (within the same industry), those guys wouldn’t be hiring me based on my academic qualifications.
It’s been a good nine (!) years since I last saw my poly transcripts. I stared fondly at the only distinction I got in my three years in Ngee Ann. Business Mandarin wasn’t not even a core module. Muahahaha.
Then I got a rude shock when I saw:
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: C (60-69%/ GOOD)
I texted my favourite lecturer the next day,
“You know what? That so and so gave me a C for Oral Comms back in Year 1! That is a major insult! I can live with Cs and Ds for Human Resource Management or Business Law. But a C for Oral Comms?! How am I going to face the world?!”
She sniggered.
And I laughed at myself afterwards. Jumping up and down at this only after 11 years… It just shows how interested I was in my grades back then.

I give up on my part time Studies…. i am very busy with my 9-5 job in SME…. i think those who can cope well on both side are really super…. maybe MNC company may differ….. Cruz’s is flexi working hrs, so i thinkn you can easily cope with it… All the best !!!

I am also pursuing my part-time degree in the construction sector. its really taxing given that although we r officially 9-5, but more often than not requires overtime.

i just finish my part time studies not long ago! it was like so tough for me.. esp i was working 8.30 to 6.30 with OT on certain days (at that time of study)… really feel the sense of relief and achievement when graduated

Suppose u will b going 2 SIM to study since u used to study in Ngee Ann? haha…. i got A for oral comm in Ngee Ann leh, but i think i not as gd in toking as u… lol… tis shows, results dun show everything de… haha… can try RMIT but got a lot of prj, mayb UOL would b a better choice 4 u… haha…

i gave up my part time at SIM after 1 semester. 9-5 work already v tiring, and i am actually nt reali interested in the course. BLAH!

No doubt your working hours are flexible but studying esp
p/time really need alot of energy & jing shen…tat means
u got to sacrifice alot of mj sessions, blogging, watching
video, etc…And no more late late nights!!

u feel the thrill to decide to further ur studies.. this is wat i felt when i finally decided, enrolled and got the confirmation… but when u are in it… angel & devil will always appear above ur head everytime to encourage u and discourage u… coz afterall Part-Time studying aint easy.. I am studying rite nw too.. so.. wateva it is… Jia You!! coz if others can do it.. so can u!! *this is wat push me to carry on!!* woo hoo~~! (:
