Sentosa Luge & Skyride

Buzzword last Wednesday: Spontaneous.

I called Miss M right after my shift, and was shocked to hear that she was not at work. “What are you doing at home?! 10am already! I’ve finished my work and you’re not in the office?!”

Before I knew it, I was conned into having an early lunch with her. Jan, who was not working that day came along. We had assumed that Miss M would report to the office right after the meal. However, it took them less than 30 seconds to decide to have lunch at this famous duck rice eating house in Pasir Panjang before heading to Sentosa.

“What? No leave, no MC, and she wants to go to Sentosa?!”

I was quite apprehensive when they said they wanted to do the Luge thing again.

“Huh? Don’t want lah. I read in a friend’s blog that he fell and injured himself. I’m so clumsy. What if I fall? Don’t want lah. What if I scratch my face? I’m 代言人 now, you know?” Hahahaha.

Oh it was fun!

And I don’t know how anyone can injure themselves. Bish. I was anxious for nothing. Chey.

On the Skyride back to the starting point, I took in the lush greenery and felt grateful and delighted all at the same time that I have a job with ultra flexible working hours with no dress code restrictions, and that I have insane friends who make such spontaneous decisions in the middle of a working week.

By the way, Sentosa has to do something about their toilets. I nearly threw up my expensive lunch. On our morning show the next day, we agreed that public toilets at markets, hawker centres and coffeshops “can” sink to depressing puke-inducing levels. However, such facilities at tourist locations- especially one which charges $2 for island admission and subsequently double digit fees for individual attractions, should have usable loos.

I couldn’t agree with you more on the SENTOSA TOILETS issues!!!!!

I feel so disgraced being a Singaporean to visit a toilet in a SUPPOSE-TO-BE most Famous attraction and found the toilet to be in such a sorry state. What… CLEAN & GREEN country indeed…
