If its not taken, the infections MAY lead to death. People always think not to take antibiotic and let the body heal on its own but normally when the doctor thinks that your infection is so bad and its very difficult to heal on its own, then they will prescribe antibiotics. They dont anyhow prescribe antibiotics nowadays. I guess you are feeling better by now with the help of the antibiotics. Rest well and hope you recover soon. Cheers!
