The classic Tee Kee-ness of Cruz Teng

After the consultation last week, I was given a pack of lozenges and antibiotics for the throat infection. I finished sucking the citrus flavoured tablets but didn’t start on the antibiotics- I was feeling slightly better and didn’t want to go through the tedious process of completing the whole course.

Then… this gooey yellowish chunk of phlegm got stuck in my nasal passage. I couldn’t breathe through my nose and there was no way I could exsufflate the thick mass (mess).

The doctor recommended nose nasal drops, which he said could make everything vanish in minutes. But erm, I have no prior experience in administering those, and given the number of dramatic events that have happened (and can happen) to me, I chose the safer option of taking medication orally.

Antibitics SHOULD be taken when is prescribe to a patient. If its not taken, the infections MAY lead to death. People always think not to take antibiotic and let the body heal on its own but normally when the doctor thinks that your infection is so bad and its very difficult to heal on its own, then they will prescribe antibiotics. They dont anyhow prescribe antibiotics nowadays. I guess you are feeling better by now with the help of the antibiotics. Rest well and hope you recover soon.

    Cheers!

Eyebrown, dun really agree cos in Singapore, antibiotics are still overprescribed… cos patients often presume antibiotics are miracle drugs and wld expect docs to give.

anyway, personally, if i feel tat my infection is not tat bad, then i will let it heal. cos as long as ur phlegm is yellow or green, it’s indication of bac infection and docs will give antibiotics no matter serious or not. unless u tell e doc u dun wan it then he will decide if u really need it. tat is my personal experience lah. bottomline, tell e doc lor!

but hor, if dun wan to eat them, shld tell e doc cos otherwise, wasting own money and resources also!!! :)
