You won’t want to see this on your monitor. A blue screen with white text rendered my Sunday evening to one which involved watching the 6.30pm, 7pm and 930pm news bulletins on Channels 8, U and 5 respectively.

The deadly blue screen first appeared after my return to Turkey. Instead of giving it an overhaul, I started the terminal in safe mode to sort and post my holiday pictures and pretended the problem would disappear/ rectify on its own.

When the system finally halted over the weekend, my IT team was activated immediately. (Well, the activation was immediate but their response wasn’t. Haha.)

After initial assessment, AA, HG and AT threw up a number of suggestions ranging from hard disk reformat to data retrieval via a disk drawer. It’ll be really troublesome, I thought. AT even offered his brand new laptop during these dark hours. It was very nice of him, but I couldn’t see myself surfing porn on a borrowed terminal…

HG summarised, “You just want us to tell you to buy a new computer. Stop wasting our time. Go buy lah!” Three cheers for my bestest friend. Hahaha!

Before I decide between a desktop and laptop, there’ll only be text entries on www.cruzteng.com. Thank goodness for my mobile phone and (almost) unlimited data plan.
