Although I am shivering every now and then, developed rashes from wearing the long john under my jeans and was nearly choked to death by two miserable fish bones, I’m beginning to contemplate hiding my passport in an obscure corner of Turkey so that I don’t have to return home (that soon).
It has been a great trip so far. The sheer size of the country meant that we had to spend a considerable amount of time on the roads. However, each destination was breathtaking. Totally enough to ignore any discomfort and the inconvenience of switching hotels four times in a week.
I was especially fascinated with Ephesus. Marble structures from 2,000 years ago (parts of it anyway), were standing tall and proud. There were stories and legends to be told at every turn and every corner. It was at the Library of Celcius- the most spectacular part of Ephesus that I received the congratulatory SMSes and took that thank you video. I’m surely going to remember that place for a very long time.
We’ll be taking a four hour ride to Ankara on Tuesday. And if I get my way (*winks at Chan Brothers), I might just be able to spend one more day in Turkey and return on Saturday, instead of Friday as planned. Wheet! And my handsome Turkish guides mentioned that it might snow on Tuesday night! Woohoo!
