After the inaugural event held in Beijing in 2001, the Global Chinese Music Awards Ceremony was staged in Guangzhou (2002), Shanghai (2003), Taipei (2004), Kuala Lumpur (2005) and Singapore (2006). As Hong Kong celebrates its 10 year reunification with Mainland China, Radio Television Hong Kong plays host to the most prestigious regional music event this October.

Liyi will be celebrating her birthday at the Hong Kong Coliseum, as she represents Singapore in hosting the awards ceremony. Chen Weilian will be performing with Joey Yung for the first time. Meanwhile, three local artistes, namely Stefanie Sun, Sun Ho and JJ Lin, have been nominated for the popularity awards. We’re counting on you, you, you and you to vote relentlessly to ensure our Singaporean singers make a clean sweep for the trophies on foreign land.
