I’m not sure if it’s a good thing to announce that I spent half of the day in bed right at the start of the week.

Well, I was exhausted.

Playing mahjong on Sunday evenings is never a good idea. Especially when you start a new show the next day. But erm, I won enough money to buy a DS Lite. Muahahaha. All thanks to my 清一色平糊 and 大三元.

The new morning show began today with my usual can of Coke and half opened eyes. As with all new partnerships, we’re taking time to adjust to one another. The amount of energy and effort to launch a new show is overwhelming, despite the fact that this is my fifth year in the mornings. We are a distance from “gelling seamlessly”, but we’ll work towards that.

I sat through (and did a lot of talking and gesturing at) two meetings after 10am. By now, my (relatively) new colleagues Ah Kay and Ah Neal have probably noticed that I speak up (a lot) when I’m passionate about certain issues, (Singapore Hit Awards, for instance) and erm, roll my eyes excessively, and SMS them incessantly otherwise.

In other news, the surface wounds on my foot are ok now. At the dining table on Friday, I called my mum seeking her advice:

Cruz:
Do you think I can eat hay zoh (虾枣)?

Mum:
Eat lah! So long already.

Cruz:
Won’t infection or what hor? Can eat prawns liao hor?

Mum:
Haiyah, just eat lah. Doesn’t matter one lah.

Cruz:
Ya lor. If something happens, it’s my leg, not yours mah.

Hahaha!

Anyway, that tiny serving didn’t do any damage. I’m aiming for a platter of calamari and giant tiger prawns next! Woohoo.
