20 hours of Fri.

Considering my ultra flexible working hours, it was indeed rare for me to stay up 20 hours on any given day.

I unwittingly sabotaged the bestest friend big time. Muahahhahaha.

We were reading SMSes from listeners- including those declaring their total affection for Weibin and me (haha!) on our last morning together, as well as those complaining about the downpour and the traffic jams occurring all over the island. My friends texted me too. On my mobile phone, not the 30 cents apiece 72346.

Irvin encountered nightmarish traffic on all three routes he chose.

Later, Helen said she was still at home (at 9.10am) and that she would have no hope of getting to work on time, since Irvin reported heavy traffic on the SLE.

Once her message was read on air, she immediately got a string of calls and SMSes, which she claimed to have delayed her further.

“Wah! You dua Helen dua kee dua kee hor?! How can you say that she is at home at 9.10am?!”

In my (bestest) defence,

“What?! I only said that the sms was from a Helen. I didn’t say it was my friend, Helen what?! How come you all jumped to a conclusion so quick that she was THE Helen we knew?!”

The laughing fit somehow gave me the energy to fully immerse myself in a production marathon afterwards. I was really tempted to return home for a nap in the gloriously sleep conducive weather, but I prevailed. Haha. Apart from the stuff required for the revamp next week, I had plenty of trailers to do- Singapore Hit Awards, Turkey trip and some other promos. Wah laos. I haven’t been so productive for a long time lor.

Thanks to Ah Neal for the piping hot lunch, which warmed not only my tummy but also my fingers which were in danger of being frostbitten after spending that amount of time in an Artic-like production suite.

Dinner was at the marvellous Pu Tien with OGS, Andrew and En Lai.

(Note: The link goes to JX’s blog just to let you have a idea of what Pu Tien is like. He wasn’t at the dinner.)

Amazingly, OGS who was almost always late, was on time!

Andrew:
Wah. This is like the Amazing Race! Let’s see who runs through the door first.

Enlai:
Sorry sorry

Cruz:
Sorry no cure

Enlai:
Really sorry

Cruz:
Really no cure

The dinner started 40 minutes after the scheduled time.

It was good, as usual. Except the pig belly appetiser the staff recommended. My favourite yam duck lacked a bit of punch, but it was still satisfying enough.

The bestest friend appeared after the dinner, evidently unscathed from the morning’s sabotage. Muahahaha.

And she bought doughnuts! Coupled with the famous muffins Andrew bought from Shunfu, we continued our gossip catching up session at King Albert Park till 1am.

And because half the population in Singapore has already agreed that I am fat, after looking after the full page full colour advertisement on Wed and Fri, I might just as well gobble myself to new heights of obesity.

Huat ah! Bui ah!

So much for returning home early during the 7th lunar month…
