It’s the time of the year where many Chinese believe that the deceased return for a visit.

After my mum reminded me not to stay out late, I sent a similar SMS to several people.

Cruz:
7th month begins on Monday. Boh dai ji don’t stay out late.

Ryan:
Boh dai ji won’t stay out late regardless of which month lah.

Don:
Hahaha! You sound like my mother!

My favourite reply came from Jan:

Oh! Means we MUST play overnight mahjong cos can only leave in the morning!

Hahaha.

You might recall that I usually leave my production work till the eleventh hour, often scrambling to complete the stuff one or two nights before the actual revamp. I think I’ll try my best not to slack and do my production on weekdays afternoons instead.

Royston was on air last Friday to talk about 881. His anecdotes included how a make up artist came running to fuss over a character who was portraying the late Mr Chen Jin Lang after the crew heard instructions to do so. In an interview with I Weekly, Aaron Tan, the youngest Getai owner in Singapore (and my camp mate! Haha), was suitably freaked out when the 881 crew set up stage at Turf City for a week of filming. He reportedly burned incense paper day and night because “some might misunderstand that the 7th month had arrived“.

Of course, if you are a firm believer of other religion(s), you would label it as hogwash. But there are people who strongly accept this as a fact, not a myth.

In any case, it doesn’t hurt to be home early lah.

In other news, my foot swelled considerably over the weekend.

Mandy hosted a BBQ at her spanking new place yesterday. I had the perfect excuse REASON not to be involved in the actual cooking. Muahaha.

I stayed away from the prawns and squid what! Unless you tell me the swelling is because the chicken wings and satay were served on the same plate as the toxic seafood and/or they were cooked using the same pair of tongs. D’oh….
