We’ve reached the end of a dreadful week…

Everything had been so unreal. Even as I sat across the porch peering at her photograph framed with chrysanthemums, I was half expecting her to turn up, for she was always present when the family gathered. I waited in vain for a sign that indicated this entire incident was all part of an extended bad dream.

In a while, we will all move on and embrace new chapters in our lives. It’ll be somewhat less complete, but life must go on. And it will go on. While she is physically absent, she will be in our hearts always.

I’ve always maintained that our affection for the Departed will not be determined by trivial statistics like the number of days without television, the number of weeks vegetarian food is consumed, or the number of months we prohibit ourselves from putting a smile on our faces.

It’s really how we remember someone that matters the most.

To everyone who’s reading this- in and outside the family- Let’s all have a fulfilling week ahead.

Totally, agree. It’s hard, physically and emotionally. But, you’ve got to stay clear-minded and carry on with your life. She’ll be happier to see you guys carrying on with your life and remembering her rather than hogging on to the past memories.

Take care. You can do it. :)
