Finally a change to my non existent social life.
***I managed to convince C to bring me out for dinner on Friday.
Note No 1: The Bai Kah King is very atas now. He only meets people who drives him to and fro.
She had recently traded in her black Rav 4 for a red Volkswagen Polo and was happy to ferry me around. The dinner was interesting because they were mostly people whom I had occasional contact with on a working basis. It was the first time we sat down for a meal together. And it was fun! Haha.
Because I had spent too many Fridays and Saturdays alone, I wasn’t keen on returning home after just a meal.
Note No 2: The Bai Kah King still rules at mahjong. 清一色平糊. 10台. 谢谢..
***K was the designated driver for Saturday.
See Note No 1 above.
J was playing host at his place and had spent the afternoon cooking for us.
Note No 3: The Bai Kah King can only participate in low energy and minimal movement activities for the time being.
I played my role well- simply sitting on the couch and having food served right in front of me. Such hospitality!

Prior to that, we had slotted one of the many rented DVDs into the player while waiting for every one to arrive for dinner. Whoa. That single disc turned the Saturday night into a sleepless one.
溏心风暴 is a drama that achieved pretty high ratings in Hong Kong earlier this year.
Head of the household, Mr Tang, has two wives and four children. The first wife’s siblings stay in their residence and assist to run the abalone business that is worth HK$0.6 billion. So you have a few characters guarding the family assets, while some scheming to steal that.
We spent 11 hours (8pm-7am) watching the 40 episodes. Obviously, we had to fast forward (a lot) lah. Hahaha. We only wanted to catch the family in action- notably 李司棋、米雪、关菊英、夏雨 and 陈豪. Oh man, they were so good. Sorry huh, we only saw glimpses of 林峰 while fast forwarding cos his role wasn’t explicitly linked to the family feud.
I personally think 4 to 5 is the optimal number of people to watch TV with. Too few, you don’t get enough response- I mean, it’s such a kick for everyone to OH!!! and AHH!! together. Too many, it gets distracting when everyone wants to voice their opinions.
I had fun, because I had a chance to practise my lousy Cantonese! Hahaha. In fact, I could still understand some bits and pieces from the dialogue even when the subtitles disappeared briefly.

Hi, ya i watched the drama too. Its a nice & interesting one… But dun really like the ending and the storyline is a bit longwinded… Thats fast for you guys to finished the 40 episodes in 11 hours, hope u didnt miss any interesting part while fast forwarding…

I watched the 2nd time with them and the 3rd time w kk now!! LOL!
The last 30min of the last eipsode is disappointing but i believe the story writer had done well, he made us glued to the last episode, at least!
Lots of moral stories from Dai Kai, the first wife. Like, now, i know that i dun live on a desserted island and i have to consider others’ feeling.
K had learn and aimed to be a second wife who gets thousands of pocket money for doing nothing. LOL.
