The need for speed.
You won’t believe how happy I am to finally get behind the steering wheel.
In preparation for my return next week, I conducted a Driver Refresher cum Reorientation Course under the watchful (and fearful) eyes of the best friend. My heart was going pik pik pok pok the first few minutes. I almost turned to my first passenger after five weeks, “我们不是同年同月同日生。。。应该也不会同年同月同日死吧？！” I decided to keep my mouth shut in case I unwittingly jinxed myself, plus an innocent victim.
Moments later, I was on the CTE. That was when the fun began. Muahahahhahahha.
Oh my. I miss my car soooooooo much.
The caretaker almost always keeps within the speed limits - which explains why I’m always late for my medical appointments. So it was time for my beloved to do what she does best. ZOOM ZOOM!
I felt extremely liberated. WOOHOO!
Before you guys start to scream at me, rest assured that the ZOOM! ZOOM! part will be KIV-ed for a while. I braked rather hard somewhere and my bandaged foot was sort of forced against the floor for a split second. That was painful. (For a while only lah.)
This refresher course was totally necessary because I plan to drive myself to work next week. Taking cabs might be a safer option. But if you’ve been within the premises of MediaCorp, you would know the distance between my studio and the gate is the equivalent of a marathon in the eyes of a Bai Kah. Oh, and that. I’ll be going around with crutches until further notice. And I certainly do not want to repeat my lousy long gao story every time I board a cab with my prominent pair of accessories.
Here’s an important note to my colleagues in MediaCorp Radio/ TV/ News/ Publishing/ Print/ Enterprises and other Business Units: Please, please, please do not park your car too close to mine. I need a really wide space to open the door (on the driver side). I can’t guarantee that my door and/ or crutches will not do any accidental damage to your car if you come too close. Thanks. By the way, I drive a black Mazda 3 with a SGB number plate. Easily distinguishable from Zoe’s Audi and Fann’s Ferrari Porsche.
Acting on the advice of G, I will be having a photography session at 10am next Tuesday for all my colleagues who miss me. Hahaha! 先到先拍.拍完为止. And erm, no handshakes cos I need to hold on to my crutches with both hands. No autographs for the same reason. Colleagues who are reading this but don’t know me personally (yet) are also welcome. See you! Hahahahah.
