暗巷－主题曲与插曲
It’s Wednesday! Two episodes have been aired and there have been mixed reviews so far. Thank you for tuning in (on air/online) and your support. Woohoo! Whatever it is, I’m determined to produce (at least) one more story because it has been so much fun. As to when I can/will do it will largely depend on my boss… We’ll talk about that another day.
I completed Episode Four and started work on the finale this morning. I’m not really in a hurry to finish it, cos I don’t want the thrill to end so soon.
Meantime, people have asked about the songs in this production. I wanted ballads because 暗巷 is basically a love story. There aren’t much lovey dovey scenes but the characters are where they are because they had found love, and subsequently coping with the consequences of their decisions.
Oh, there’s this scene at the end of Episode One where two doctors conduct some body check-ups beyond their job scope. It’s actually more descriptive in the original novel but I’ve scaled it down to match requirements. And I don’t really intend to do a porn production at my first attempt you know? The most frequently heard line “总有一天，你们会有报应的” was deliberately repeated to dramatise the production- so will Zhuang Jing take her revenge on the old lady during the operation? Find out in Episodes 3 and 4. 
小情歌 by 苏打绿 was chosen as the theme song, because the producer- ME, likes the song lah! Haha. My bestest friend had me buy their second album 小宇宙 in Taiwan earlier this year because no one marketed the album locally. I really like the melancholic and endearing feel of 吴青峰’s vocals.
The other song you hear is a really sad ballad about a guy who kept all his relationship problems to himself. Despite a brave front, he was actually in misery and didn’t know whether to make a hasty retreat or to continue loving the person he loves.
路人甲 was chosen as the interlude song because it’s relevant to parts of the radio drama, and more importantly, the simple fact that the producer of this show is the one who wrote the lyrics.
