Project Superstar II
5 February 2007 Monday | 18:39 | -

I completed my Super Live Grand Slam last evening- having attended the grand finals of Superhost, Superband, and Project SuperStar in the last 12 months. I was involved with Campus SuperStar in a different manner, but that should count lah.

Wah seh #1- Supporters in red outnumber those in blue ah?

Wah seh #2- Did anyone else think it was very lame for the karate guys to karate chop those red boards?

Wah seh #3- The Vietnam superstar- whom I suspect is trying to go the way Guo Mei Mei has gone- has big lovely eyes and a even bigger mouth hor?

Wah seh #4- Two of the cheerleaders that night were so irritating I almost wanted to walk down and stuff their mics down their throats. Or up their arses. Pardon my language. And the evil plans. All 10 people I surveyed agreed with me though.

PSS II is less controversial than the first, and the dynamics between Daren and Diya was comforting to see. Even the introductory voting videos with the two of them dissing each other sounded so fun and hilarious. What could be the bloodshed of the year evolved into a grand showcase of two new talents singing their hearts out on the biggest (three sided indoor) stage in Singapore. Bravo to supporters from both camps, and thumbs up for the stage design and effects.

Congrats to Daren for winning the title. All he needs now would be some speech lessons and he will be ready to conquer Asia. Since he’d managed to electrify the judges (at least one of them anyway, as we’re constantly reminded…), I’m pretty confident he’ll go a long way provided he has a sound management and repertoire team.

And my heart goes all out to Diya. Any idea how it feels like to walk up the stage knowing that everyone has placed bets on the other camp? While I think the platform for her finale item is much appreciated, I suppose she deserved a more flattering gown. Unless they actually intended to create a wedding cake illusion for that segment. Hmmmm….

My SMS to Yunying:
Oei~ Please tell your good friend I voted for her hor. Ask her don’t be sad k?

Yunying:
You lah! Go and predict Daren will win. Bleah.

Cruz:
Don’t change topic. Go and tell her I voted for her. NOW.

My SMS to Cuifang:
Hey… You’re still the ONLY female champ!

Cuifang:
Seriously, I was hoping for her to win.. Our tears were rolling…

Cruz:
Well. It’s just another day in the harsh world of entertainment…

Ah yes… Life goes on.

The results of one single event may affect, but doesn’t totally determine one’s destiny in this magical world of Entertainment. You lose only when you declare yourself to be a loser. This goes out to all past and future non title holders of Superwhatever. :)
