Pre Awards Note
It’s not the first time this has happened… That people around me make themselves gan jiong, while I remain relatively calm and steady.
Vincci (my hair stylist) wanted me to turn up on time so that she can do some subtle magic to make sure that I don’t look like a tut tut soldier boy on Friday night.
Donna (my beautician) gave me this collagen mask and repeatedly reminded me to slap it on my face for 30 minutes on the actual day. And she insists that I cannot step into the sun cos I just did a AHA peel. And I’m supposed to apply this liquid on my face twice a day to prevent any acne breakout in the next couple of days. Oh, I feel so gu niang.
A was concerned I wouldn’t have time to pick up my blazer from the laundry shop. “You’re the defending champion hor. Even if you don’t win this year, oso cannot su say at the ceremony k.”

And so, we’ll fall in at Shangri-la on Friday for the 3rd Singapore Radio Awards.
Many thanks to the organising committee. The Black and White theme makes life easier for someone who has been in camp the whole week, and doesn’t have much time to shop around.
Some might liken award ceremonies to be a time for handing out annual report cards. I just thought it would be more appropriate to do a self appraisal on the eve of such an occasion.
Like what I said last year, 奖项 是他人给你的肯定。 更重要的是自我肯定。

Thank you for making me Favourite Personality last year. It had been a wonderful year, finally finding (and liking) my niche in the mornings; scoring distinctions in terms of ratings as our morning show was ranked Number One in two consecutive tracking periods. I had fun on stage too! In campuses and other outdoor events… And after hosting awards ceremonies overseas since 2003, I finally took to the big stage on home turf at the Singapore Hit Awards last year.

I hope I didn’t disappoint anyone who voted for me last year… =D
And thank you for voting for me this year!
Gam siah! Gam siah!
Sorry I can’t sing or dance to express my sincere appreciation. You’ll just have to make do with this ok?
Gam siah! Gam siah!
*LOL
We’ll see if the votes are sufficient this time. ![]()
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the lavish dinner at Shangri-la, and heading elsewhere for a private post awards party. Ah, I need the partying after a week in camp!
