16 August 2006 Wednesday | 0:58 | Almost away, Global Chinese Music Awards 全球華語歌曲排行榜
Folks, I’m about to embark on my 8th trip of the year. It should be the last one in the next three months.
I will be travelling with Veron (Assistant Vice President), Huishi (Programme Director) and Junxin from Changi Airport, while Huimin Jie (Senior Vice President) will fly from another city in China.
In a random conversation last week,
Cruz:
Hey! The 3 bosses not around! You all can eat snake! Boh zeng hu!
Someone:
Ya! But you cannot eat snake! The zeng hu will be with you!
Hahaha.
I read earlier that there might be thunderstorms in Shanghai the next few days. Well done, Me. Everywhere I go, a storm awaits. I’ve proven it in Guangzhou and Bangkok. Let’s hope my powers are gone by the time I land in Pudong.
Because I’ve already explained the significance of Shanghai a few days ago, let’s take a quick look at my itinerary for the next few days. I understand that this doesn’t concern you at all. If you’re getting bored by this, why don’t you take out your mobile phone (again) and do some SMS voting? Muahaha.
Day 1- 16.8.06
Morning Flight to Pudong. The price of being my friend is that you have to wake up at 5.30am with me and send me to the airport. Thanks, Ryan.
While other delegates stream in at later parts of the day, I figure I can either spend some Renminbi or nua in the hotel. I hope 美崙大酒店 is as 美輪美奐 as the name suggests.

I might bring the Singapore entourage to this fantastic restaurant.

There’s this gigantic fish hidden at the bottom of this gigantic basin bowl in 渝信川菜館.
I promise I will eat with dignity. And I will ensure that no one takes ugly shots of me eating.
Day 2 – 17.8.06
We get down to work as the final regional meeting for the 6th Global Chinese Music Awards begin.
I don’t need tea, or fruits, or sandwiches. I just need Coke, please.
Thanks.
After dinner, we might head down to The Bund!
Long~~~ Ban! Long~~~ Tao!
That’s 葉麗儀’s 上海灘 for ya.
Day 3- 18.8.06
I imagine that Huishi and Junxin will go shopping in the morning. I think I’d prefer to sleep in. Or I may go over to JJ’s suite to say hi. I reckon he won’t risk stepping out of the hotel lest he gets mobbed lah.
It’s showtime in the afternoon as our 林俊傑 takes to the stage with other regional artistes: 金莎(北京)、陳尚實、東山少爺(廣州)、側田(香港)、苟偉(上海)、南拳媽媽(台灣)and 林宇中(馬來西亞)。
Nominations for this year’s Global Chinese Music Awards will be announced in Shanghai at 2pm. Online vote begins at 5pm.

Then, it’s gonna be the biggest highlight of the trip.
Ladies and gentlemen, I’m going to SANDY LAM’s concert!!!

Well, we happen to be there and she happens to be there too. After a few phone calls, we’ve got invites to her concert! Woohoo!!!
Day 4- 19.8.06
My enlistment anniversary. Seven years ago, I tearfully bade farewell and headed to Pulau Tekong to serve the nation.
Seven years later, I’ll in Shanghai.
One sentence. I’m not returning to the hotel until I spend all my Renminbi.
Day 5- 20.8.06
Morning flight back.
My team of moderators will take care of this place in the meantime.
