August is an exciting month for the morning trio.

Lingzhi has just returned from Vietnam. The first day they arrived, someone lost his mobile phone. How sway.

Mary will take another holiday. The destination is Japan this time. The last I heard, she was having trouble understanding the extremely complicated map of Tokyo.

And I’ll be going to Shanghai this Wednesday. Before you go WOOHOO, I have to tell you that it’s for work.

Hosting Global Chinese Music Awards has brought me to different cities each year.

Incidentally, the very first trip was to Shanghai for the awards ceremony in 2003.

That trip was especially memorable.

It was the first time I represented Singapore on an international platform with 100 million radio listeners and TV viewers. I didn’t trip and fall on my face. Yeah! I didn’t fumble. Yeah!

It was the first time I travelled alone. Huishi was supposed to go with me, but she fell sick a few days before departure.

It was the first time I took a plane on my birthday. Instead of excitement, I wallowed in self pity- Why was I going to a strange place instead of celebrating with my friends and family? Haha.

I’m rather apprenhensive this time, because I almost couldn’t recognise myself after spending a week in Shanghai last year.

We compared pictures taken on Day 1 and Day 6. We could really see a visible difference- My already quite round face, became rounder!
