It might sound exaggerating, but I’ve been replying with “I’m devastated“ when people ask how I am.
It certainly helped that people around me are being exceptionally nice.

Trust me to come up with new ways to con people of free dinners.
“Huishi! I had meant to do this production after my facial. But I lang gar before the facial. And after spending three hours to settle everything, I forgot about the thing! Sorry sorry! I do tomorrow.”
My boss didn’t have the heart to penalize me.
“You take care hor? Don’t think too much. $5 can already.”
The cab driver who drove me home from Mazda overheard my conversation. He showed his sympathies by giving me a 20 cents discount from the fare.
“$700 for 2 weeks.”
Jan was quick to source for a rented car because neither Mazda nor my insurance company provided one.
“I’ll see you at your office.”
Ryan was kind enough to ferry me around during this transition period. I think my confidence has returned though, when I found myself on the first lane of SLE at 4 o’clock this morning.
“See you in 20 minutes.”
Jack was in Woodlands. Don and Jan were on their way to Orchard. I had initially rejected plans for mahjong on Fri night cos I was so tired from ten hours in the office. Because I announced much later that I couldn’t sleep, they abandoned all other plans and gathered at Don’s place for mahjong.
It’s a brand new week.
