Stressed over Soccer
People take my word too seriously sometimes.
We were saying on air that the final matches of World Cup 2006 would be shown ‘live’ on Channel 5 to reach a wider audience. I boldly claimed that I won’t be turning up the next couple of days cos I would be watching those matches.
Over lunch, Huishi (Programme Director, Y.E.S. 93.3FM) stared at me, “You really not coming tomorrow ah?”
Hahahaha!
Of course I will be turning up.
I’m not even a soccer fan to begin with.
I don’t care who steps on whose groin, or who sabo who…
Basically, I don’t care who wins… Unless I placed a bet. Muahahaha.
Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy… Germany or Italy…
… … I’m going for Italy.
Things I love about Italy include Gucci and Prada. Not Italian soccer.
I’m placing my bets on them because:
1. A VP in Sales gave me that advice;
2. The analysis I read on air this morning said that Germany has not defeated Italy in four previous matches in the World Cup history; and that Italy is amazingly lucky so far;
3. A SMS poll of listeners this morning produced the same verdict;
4. Ryan said so.
I’ve left it to my best friend to manage my bets. I’ve told him that I’ll match his bets dollar for dollar. And I did warn him not to make me a bankrupt.

Meantime, I’m going to bed.
I haven’t been sleeping well these two nights. I desperately need some quality sleep.
