As you might be aware, I’m celebrating my twenty-second (haha!) this Sep… No lavish plans as yet… And no wish lists drafted either.

I was pleasantly surprised when J and E insisted on bringing me to Forbidden City.

And I got another surprise- oh, I so like surprises- when I got another 22nd (haha!) birthday present this afternoon.

I had been telling C that I wanted to get a cable to connect my iPod to my car stereo.

It wasn’t a hint or anything, cos she was the one who initiated the conversation on iPods!

She had been checking out the prices and told me to wait. “No impulse purchases, brudder“, she reminded.

It so happened that W couldn’t make it for lunch due to a last minute meeting today, and I happened to call R, who happened to be at Wheelock Place…

“Eh, C! I don’t wanna wait liao. I’m gonna buy the thing now. It’s a sign!”

A sign that I somehow landed myself at Wheelock Place, where an Apple shop is conveniently located. Hee.

When C said she would meet me at Apple, I thought she had made up on her mind on which iPod to get, and the combined purchases would qualify us for a discount.

While pointing out to her the different transmitters available, and telling her I intended to get the $89 one, she went straight to one corner without batting an eyelid and said, “This is good. Take this.“, and stuffed a $169 piece into my hands.

“Hello! You’re the one who’s telling me to save money and you’re throwing this to me just like that?”

It turned out that she had snooped around. And that it was meant to be a present from her and S.

Woah…

Now, the free iPod Mini I got in Dec 04- used for a grand total of less than ten times- can finally stop collecting dust at home.

Important PostScript: Eh, the rest of the people out there… You all can stop planning to buy me birthday presents liao ok…The Singapore Radio Awards will be held in a few months’ time. Save the money and vote for me then ok? Muahahahahahaha
