Return of the King
I swear I didn’t plan my hiatus to match the schedules of sovereigns around the world.
(Real life) Kings, Queens, Emperors and Sultans across a few continents were invited to Bangkok, in the honour of His Majesty King Bhumipol Adulyadej, on the auspicious occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of His Majesty’s accession to the Throne.
The destitute King of CruzTeng.Com was obviously not accorded an invitation to this joyous occasion, but King Cruz did enjoy himself, once again, in a luxurious corner within the Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa.

As the grand celebrations would climax on Friday afternoon, the hotel staff, upon my check in on Wednesday, advised me to leave the hotel four hours prior to my departure flight. The same advisory was reproduced in the newspaper the following day.
I decided to be a good boy and do as they say…
Unexpectedly, I arrived at the airport within thirty minutes! Oh man!
As it so happened that there was a flight scheduled for take off in the next hour (ie two hours before my originally scheduled one), I called SQ for help. After ding dong ing between the Singapore and Bangkok offices, plus some smiles and frowns on my end, I managed to hop onto a flight two hours earlier. Woohoo!
