Another fun filled weekend. Woohoo!
(Notice how my weekend reports begin with activities on Friday. Cos I start (and end) work early, I consider whatever I do after I knock off on Fridays to be part of the weekend itineraries.)
The whole bunch of us was not on air on Friday. Not cos we were naughty and went on mass AWOL… We were at Shangri La for our annual brainstorming.
You know, when you have a whole group of talkers in one room, the situation can get out of hand pretty easily.
“Oei! Don’t talk so loud can? You’re interrupting our group ok?”
“Oei! Can you like stop distracting us (with the latest juicy gossip) and try to come out with something for the presentation?”
The buffet lunch at The Line was, well, pretty expensive. But the spread was fantastic. Absolutely worth it if you’re a big eater.
Frankly, I don’t really like buffets. Cos there’s a tendency to stuff two meals worth of food down your throat in one sitting. And I actually prefer comfort to variety. Meaning I prefer to be served rather than to queue for my food
Well, not complaining since the company paid for it.
The retreat continued on Saturday afternoon when the whole station checked in at The Sentosa. (In case you’re as suaku as Cavin Soh, Beaufort has been renamed The Sentosa duno how many years ago…)
Because we had a most fantastic lunch at The Line just the day before, we were rather disappointed with the dinner. Someone picked up a slice of raisin bread and declared it to be the tastiest thing in the entire restaurant. I provided inputs on that issue by telling people what NOT to eat.
As with any retreat, games were lined up in the name of bonding. Now get this, we were MAFIA-ed from 3pm to 3am!!! That’s minus a tea break and dinner, as well as some miscellaneous games in between.
Weixiong, who arrived at dinner time, declared he was a MAFIA King. That proved to be a fatal move. Cos he was eliminated by the Mafia at the start of every single game. I was glad he came along cos Mary (the inhouse genius) and I were usually the first to be eliminated. It’s a compliment, actually, cos the good players would be killed by the Mafia!
Yes, don’t argue. I AM a good player, cos Weixiong, the self proclaimed Mafia King said so.
Hahahha.
Of course, games wouldn’t be fun without forfeits. We usually do different forfeits each time, but no. Somehow, we had the same forfeit for the different games (besides MAFIA) throughout the day.
The weekend at Sentosa had half the group exposing their underwear and posing for the camera. For a while, it seemed like we were in a porn making factory. But we were actually too bowled over by laughter to think of anything dirty. Haha.
In order not to further embarrass anyone… I can only report that:
TWO DJs had translucent underwear - Why they were wearing translucent on a company retreat is a big mystery!;
One was wearing a black lacy piece- For a minute we thought she was wearing holey underwear.
One was wearing a white piece with multi coloured polka dots;
One was wearing low cut jeans with lower cut undies – The 120 seconds she took in fishing out her undies had us wondering if she actually wore any.
And yes, there were some boring white pieces. *Yawn*
I’m rather sad I didn’t get to see someone’s underwear cos she said hers had a Hello Kitty motiff! *LOL
And I regret that I didn’t get to show off my Calvin Klein boxers.
That just further proves that I AM a good player! In Mafia and other games! Hahahaha! Or perhaps they didn’t wanna get sore eyes from seeing my underwear; and thus refrained from sabo-ing me. =D
Spent the whole of Sunday in bed before venturing to Liang Seah Street to celebrate Helen’s birthday. As we couldn’t reach a consensus whether to go to West Coast or the Airport for after dinner drinks, we settled for the location nearest to us- Thanks to G and S for letting us invade their office and make a mess in their conference room.
I didn’t miss the chance to make this group MAFIA addicts! Hahaha.
“Cruz is the Mafia!! Look at his kim moh!”
Yes, they definitely need more practice.
I’m looking forward to the next weekend where we will likely get both groups (the Sat and Sun ones) for a Mafia Gathering. Woohoo!
Later on, Ah^Qiang, THE most versatile driver I know, made my day with his SMS.

Nah, I’ll be the one smelling smoke should I race with somebody who has licenses from Classes 2,3,4 and even qualified to steer a ship and pilot an aircraft!
