I was already asleep (surprise!) when I got this SMS at 12am.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Cruzy boy!
The sender was pretty pissed and accused me of being a mood spoiler when I replied this morning:
What’s there to be happy about V Day? Let’s do a Happy Tuesday instead.
Muahaha. It’s true what. I’m single, I don’t have a date. 14 Feb is no different from 13 Feb and 15 Feb for me mah.
Lest you think I’m sulking in self sorrow, no way man. There’re so many other things in life to make oneself happy. Like the tub of Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey that’s sitting in my fridge right now.
Yes, happiness is a choice.
However, I do not know if I’ve accidentally grabbed the happy genes and/ or jinxed the people around me or something… Why does Single Cruz seem way happier than some of his currently-attached friends?

Since he’s away, I can’t take him on a joyride at a speed way beyond the legal limit to forget his troubles. And there’s really no way for me to wish him luck in his lovelife cos I don’t have any luck (from that field) to begin with. I just had to shut up and feebly said I’ll meet him when he comes back.
Another friend (who’s married) messaged me this morning after I turned down a lunch appointment with her.
She:

No Valentine… But I’ll try to be happy =DShe:
Nah. Got valentine doesn’t mean you’ll be happy.
Oops. Was she trying to tell me something?
My point is, ladies and gentlemen, no one should set boundaries for you and you shouldn’t conform yourself to conventional ways of defining happiness.
Everyday will be a happy day if you determine so.
So smile, and get yourself a tub of ice cream.
