Come on, everyone! Let’s shout this together:
祝大家狗年旺旺旺!
V2:
祝你新年快乐,步步高升,身体健康。Me:
Erm…
Me:
Hahaha. Thanks huh.
Had coffee with Connie at Borders before I went over for dinner yesterday.
Me:
Oei!!!
In case you don’t get it, a bookstore in Chinese is __局。 Hmmmm.
Though I don’t buy new clothes, don’t spring clean, don’t 拜年, I can still get a little pandang. Hahaha.
Dinner was at this Teochew restaurant in KeyPoint.
I believe the staff were overworked. Read: Service bad. Haiyah, never mind lah. CNY mah.
Like many others, I’m used to colourful 鱼生. The one I had last evening was all green! Like some weird salad that was supposed to appear in an ang moh restaurant, and not during a Chinese reunion dinner.
Me:
Erm, no thousand island ah?
I was told that greenish platter was authentically Teochew. The colourful one we always see is the Cantonese version. And we were actually supposed to just pick and eat, and not toss and shout HUAT AH.
I see.
It takes the fun out of 捞鱼生. And the colourful one tastes way better, btw.
By 10pm, I was at Jan’s place for our annual Mahjong Marathon. (P/S: It could have been a Marathon, but sorry I was too tired… Hee..)
Apparently the visit to Borders did not do anything to affect my luck.
Later, Don informed us he was going downstairs to 迎接财神 at 140am.

Huh?
Apparently, you would have to face North, and look up in the skies. The BRIGHTEST star in the direction at 140am would signify the arrival of 财神。
With a lao ya compass, we agak agak got our directions, agak agak searched for the BRIGHTEST star and made a wish.
Fyi, I didn’t ask for something dramatic like striking Toto or something… I just hoped I earned enough to spend.
Me:
Ok。 Don:
Me:
Don:
I think 。。
*Not funny.
When Don asked me to get some peach blossoms to place in my room, I was reminded of a conversation on Fri night.
Me:
Oei, dinner?Connie:
Can’t ah. I got to deliver peach blossoms back home.Me:
OH! Can you save like one stalk for me? I need 桃花运 man!Connie:
Ok ok. Or you come my house and walk three rounds under the peach blossoms want or not?Me:
Very far lah. I tell you what. I MMS you my pic. You spin it round under the blossoms three times can?
Well…
Haha.
I’m off for another festive spread.
To my family, friends, listeners and readers:
祝大家春节快乐,事事顺心!
大家要快乐哦!
And let’s do this again…
HUAT AH!
