Xmas at Linda’s

Thought I could just do the same thing; but apparently not…

… Jack was too engrossed with (winning) mahjong; Jan fell asleep on the couch; and although Arthover was the first to leave, he didn’t produce any entries…

Art dreaming of kissing someone under the mistletoe.

Many many thanks to Linda, who hosted a Xmas dinner at her place last evening. Jack was a little miffed when I was one of the last to arrive, despite the fact that I stayed less than 100 metres away. Fortunately the glutton was distracted by the food soon enough. Crabs, sushi, ribs, veg salad, fruit salad, and that turkey which was three times the size of my head… Food always tastes better when it’s shared. Especially with friends you’ve known for more than a decade.

Arthover spiced up the gift exchange with a twist. Ok lah- he didn’t invent the game, he read it off somewhere

- We were supposed to choose a present under the tree and open it on the spot.

- The next person can choose to (a) select another (wrapped) present from the pile, or (b) grab something that someone has opened up before.

It therefore pays to go last. And after switching hands twice, this pillow ended in my hands.

I promptly stuck the thing under my armpit to prevent anyone else from grabbing it. Hahaha.

Before the party, Linda called for volunteers to bring wine. And true to my expectations, everyone brought a bottle but no one wanted to drink. Gee.. I wined and dined for nothing. *Paiseh. Even more paiseh when I spilled wine- not once, but twice- when I had trouble walking in a straight line.

Jan resorts to creating an artificial dimple…

With Don. A Xmas tree is nice to look at. And useful in concealing unwanted flesh. Wahaha.

Yah.. When you’re drunk, you tend to forget that a bottle isn’t a tree…
