All I want for Christmas… …

Melly Melly Christmas!

(Jack said we’re two S-es away from Smelly Smelly Christmas, but never mind that…)

I had a very unhappy Eve of Christmas Eve, but let’s not go into that for the time being…

I slept the day away on Saturday. Very thankful to the rain. Yeah! And I had a long, tiring week. Yes, shopping for presents and then wrapping them at home is tedious.

As usual, I have two parties to attend on Xmas Eve. Arrived at both in perfect timing.

As I stepped into my uncle’s place at 6.30pm, dinner was just about to be served…

Pan fried spaghetti, a large leg of ham, sushi, smoked salmon, something that looked like lasagna, except the cheese was replaced with potatoes…. And topped with a log cake plus ice cream cake, and champagne which my mum claimed to be very expensive.

After handing over birds’ nest to them all, my uncle and aunt gave me a pair of diamond studs. Woohoo!

Later in the evening, the guys almost barred me from entering Dasmond’s condo when I buzzed them prior that I was going empty handed. Traffic was a nightmare! I really didn’t have time to go back to pick up the presents.

Fortunately, they let me in just in time for the annual Bingo game. Yeap, besides pigging out and getting drunk at his place every year, we play Bingo every year.

All these years, I’d not won anything.

BUT… This year, I picked up a present ten minutes after I arrived! Haha. Tough luck guys.

Note to self: Go empty handed in future.

On hindsight, I think V2 helped a bit. Just before the game, I caressed him. Nothing kinky there hor. He just won a sibei expensive digital camera in his company’s Xmas Draw, so I wanted some of the luck :P

A bag! Perfect for packing the presents I was about to receive! Haha.

Yes, I was setting a bad example by opening presents on the spot.

A 3 or 4 year old kid saw me ripping wrappers and wanted to open his presents as well. Hahaha. I sincerely apologise to the parents.. I didn’t mean to teach him such bad manners. Opening presents in front of people is bad enough, and I opened two in ten minutes!

Terrence, Lawrence and Jasmin gave me a box and said it contained something interesting. I know the proper procedure is to thank them and chuck it into my bag… But…

Anyway, the gift made me go WOW! That’s me!

Now about the Yo Yo Hip Hop gesture, did they get the inspiration from my bus ad? I’m sure you guys would disagree with my HipHopper image and insist that a middle finger pointing Bengish gesture would be more appropriate… But hey, this is really cool.

Uncle How Han made someone twist all our names in wire. Just in time for my new toy.

Yes, I got myself a new toy on Friday. Well, I’ve been contemplating for a long time… Three weeks is like three centuries to Cruz, in case you don’t know me (well enough).

I did mention the car is the most expensive Christmas present ever. I really did, like most of you, assumed it would be the only thing I buy for myself this month.

Then, I thought… Nah… The car is a transportation tool I’ve been planning to buy once I’ve got my license. It just happened that I made my purchase in Dec. Thus, it’s not actually a Christmas present, right? Hahaha.

Ya lah, Kar Kee Gong, Kar Kee Song

Note to Uncle and V2: I wasn’t a total spendthrift. See.. I didn’t get the latest Xda Atom and saved $400. =D

(Yes, still Kar Kee Gong, Kar Kee Song…)

Speaking of Uncle and V2, thanks to their hard work over the last couple of days, settling my auto insurance. The initial quote was $3000. V2 managed to convince someone to do away with his comission and give me a lower rate. Uncle How Han went one step- no, make that ten steps further-, by slashing it all the way to $1800. Woohoo!

Because I’m due to collect the car soon, I’ve got a whole lot of related items: Another set of P plates, which means I now have four. And two tissue box covers. And two revitalisers.

You’d need to seek a Christian’s consultation with regards to the true significance of Christmas…

I’m not a religious person, and to me, 24/ 25 Dec is merely a time for friends and family. Presents, presents, presents… It’s the main focus of this post, but I guess the smile when someone receives a present from you, is worth much more than the price tag.

It’s a blessing to give presents, because that means you’ve received enough to give.

And it’s a blessing to receive, because it means your loved ones are with you.

Minus the obligatory ones, of course. Phui.

Merry Christmas, everyone.
