Cruz’s Annual Report. Part 2

APR
A party kicked off the second quarter of the year. It was Cruztacean‘s first anniversary. Three very enthusiastic ladies launched this in 2004, and did a helluva things for me. It was strange at first, really, to have a Club. And I thought it’d feel stranger having dinner with two tables of gals- oei! how come the guys in the club never attend? Signed up for fun isit?- but it never did. Till now, I still feel it’s an irony how I got the loudest cheers at the Golden Mike Awards in 2004, but went home empty-handed. Well, they, together with some others, made sure I returned with something at the subsequent awards.
Club activity has died down a little, I’m busy and so is everyone else… But let’s do a second anniversary thingy next year k? Donch worry, I won’t turn up in drag and stage a concert. =D

That same month, I felt like I was dying. In fact, I headed the committee for my funeral plans. Lingzhi was supposed to host, while Energy would be invited to sing 永远不说再见… But it turned out I wasn’t going to die from all the bleeding after all. I only have piles. Well, it’s damn gross. Probably the gross-iest thing I’ve ever encountered. Not to mention the pain and discomfort. When I say Bloody Pain, I mean it literally. Condition’s under control at the moment. And I’m still taking drugs to contain those haemorrhoids. And if you’re sniggering at my misfortune, please be informed that half the population would have piles by the age of 50. Good luck!
Although I was complaining of pain, blah blah blah, I still made time for some exciting TV. 金枝欲孽 was the first drama serial I’ve been watching since… a long time. By then, I was actually considered slow… But, erm quicker than those who only saw it on SCV in the later part of the year. I was truly captivated, and it reminded me of those days where I stayed up to finish watching entire stacks of VCDs. Now, I only stay up to play Solitaire Showdown.
And on the last day of Apr, I was late for an outdoor show. I wasn’t trying to be fashionably late or anything… It just happened lah. It was the first time in my entire career I was late for events. As luck would have it, Huishi, aka my boss, was hosting the show with me. WAH Biangz! Considering Huishi doesn’t do much events now, just what were the odds of me being paired up with my boss on the very day I was late.
No, my bonus wasn’t affected. That month, I received a bonus big enough to make me smile for days. Por bee Huishi forgets about this incident by the time the next bonus comes around. Hee…
MAY
Readers of cruzteng.com would have realised by May that lim beh really complains a lot. There I was, supposed to be preparing for my final theory test… Instead of doing something constructive, like burning the book and downing it with water, I complained and complained. And ended up not going for the test the next day. Haha. 欺骗各位的感情。真不好意思…
Star Wars fever hit. I was jumping up and down, from the time I read that online booking had began. First time I booked tickets way before the show… GV Gold Class hor… First time I printed tickets with an AXS… First time I bought tickets without confirming attendance… Because I’m not old enough to catch up with the initial frenzy, I made up for it in 2005.

As usual, there was plenty of merchandise associated with Revenge of the Sith. As I picked up chocolate dispensers Yoda and R2D2 were endorsing, I was reminded of those good old days. Not once, but twice.
What kept me from raiding Toys’R'Us was the Shanghai trip at the end of the month. The initial idea was to go over and do some catching up. However, 计划永远赶不上变化and so, we had fun in Shanghai on our own. The food in Shanghai caused my face to be rounder than ever. Somemore, It has a lasting effect! Duh.

JUN
Careerwise, it was one of the most important milestones. As if hosting 全球华语歌曲排行榜 wasn’t already enough, I was appointed as the new host of 醉心龙虎榜. The coronation took place at Civic Plaza, under the watchful eyes of Huishi, Dasmond and Liyi. Previously they were told to takeover with a phonecall, or at the most, a face-to-face briefing. Mine was the first ever to be done publicly. Whoa!

It was also a month for titles-collecting. I became a teacher (of sorts)! I taught a room of people disgustingly much younger than me, the fundamentals of radio production. I would have enjoyed the session more if not for the stubborn cough and sore eye.
In between swallowing the various pills and syrups, I realised how stupid I was.
Example No 1: The One where I missed the Final Theory Test…
Example No 2: The One where I lost money at the mahjong table…
