10 Days to Christmas… …
Feeling a lil ashamed here. People around me have been telling me what they’re getting me for Christmas, but I haven’t moved my ass to jostle with the crowds yet.
And because I’m heavily in debt now, they are coy about asking for presents from me. Haha.
About buying a stick of mentos for everyone, it’s just a joke lah. But I think I won’t be that extravagant, like previous years. Where I had an unlimited budget and bought presents indiscriminately. I think we’re falling into a trap- where we receive presents from someone and feel that we should reciprocate. I ended up buying stand-by presents last year. That turned out to be very useful. I even sold one or two items to my colleagues cos they had to do some last minute reciprocation.
I’m having none of that this year.
I’m tired of walking aimlessly around the malls and grabbing things at the last minute just to make someone happy. I’m buying a fixed number of small gifts- and I do mean it- for some people around me. As much as I’m not a religious person, contributing to the retail sector growth isn’t closely associated to Christmas at all right?
For the record, there isn’t much I need/ want for Christmas. Please delete my name from your Xmas shopping list. =D
