Busy week.

It’s been a busy week alright.

So much so I forgot to congratulate myself on my first blogging anniversary.

When it all first started, it was like a competition to see if Jack or I would end this blogging thing sooner than the other. Both of us are still on this, by the way. Just that I’ve jumped from Xanga, to Blogspot, and finally here. I’ve just got an award for my day job, so let’s just see if this blog can get me another one this year. Or the next year. Or the next decade.

Anyway, thanks for making the readership of this blog jump from 1 per day to… more than 1 per day.

I was at TV Theatre on Wednesday for the recording of SuperFunkies. It’s going to air on 12 Dec I think. Try to occupy yourself with something on that night and refrain from watching Channel U at 8pm ok? And if you do, please note that I will ignore all feedback about the show, no matter how diplomatically phrased. Comment about Peifen. Or Junyang. Or Candyce. Or Junyang AND Candyce. Whoever. No comments on me, please. :P

If you’ve paid attention to what we’ve been saying on air, the Global Chart Meeting was held in Singapore over the last two days. We were stuck seated in the MediaCorp BoardRoom the entire Thursday. It’s a rare thing that I go in there, cos the place, as the name suggests, is a conference room for the Board of Directors. Imagine a big grand table with posh leather seats. Cool. I would have slouched throughout, if not for the fact that I had to take minutes. Not so cool.

Dinner was hosted at Club Chinois by my CEO, Mr James Yip. As usual, drinking was a major highlight for the evening. My overseas friends were extremely impressed by James. Let’s put it this way. I’m usually the one to be knocked by them when I travelled. This time round, James had the honour of being the last man standing. Yeah!

I thought I was good cos I didn’t puke after exceeding my usual limit. Unfortunately I woke up with a MAJOR headache that lasted till Fri evening. I was tee-kee lah, refusing to take any painkillers. I practically sat through the press conference in agony while Liyi threw me empathetic looks from the rostrum.

I finally had to beg for Panadols since it was obvious the ache wouldn’t vanish before the concert in the evening. And I was afraid I couldn’t do my trademark Woohoo on stage lah.

Well, the challenge has officially began. As the host nation for the Global Chinese Music Awards 2006, we’re in for a year of blood and sweat and tears. Well, that’s what they all told me. After staging it in Beijing (’01), Guangdong (’02), Shanghai (’03), Taiwan (’04) and Malaysia (’05), it’ll be here in Singapore next year.

It’d be good if I could lose some weight from the stress.

That is if I don’t gorge myself to death on Double Cheeseburgers, like what I’m doing now.
