What a day…All righty. Tomorrow’s the day.
The 2nd Singapore Radio Awards will be held tomorrow. Time to know whether I can brag about being the Friendliest for a second year. Before the envelope is opened, let me say this once again: 你好！我是933最亲切DJ志勇. 哈哈哈哈！
I have four nominations this year:
Favourite Radio Personality,
Friendliest Radio Personality,
Most Creative Programme Trailer and
Radio Personality of the Year- Media’s Choice
In case I don’t go up and express my thanks- and even if I do manage to go up, it’s likely most of you won’t be hearing my speech cos the ceremony is a trade event and only clients of MediaCorp Radio, plus others who have nothing better to do on a lovely Friday evening are invited- I thought I wanna put this down in black and white here.
Thank you very much for your support, the kind words you have reserved for me and basically everything else – I assume people who find their way here don’t hate me. If you do, there’s nothing I can and will do about it. Blah.
It’s really touching and heartwarming when I receive mails and calls from blog readers and listeners telling me they voted for me. Never mind if it’s one vote or more. Thank you very much. The mere gesture of voting means quite a lot. The feeling of being appreciated can never ever be overemphasized. Thank you.
But at the end of the day, it isn’t only the voting that is critical. I didn’t land myself in this position just to get a trophy or to fuel my ego.
The rush I get when I go on air;
The satisfaction of a production well done;
The euphoria of outdoor shows;
Are the things I was and still am looking for.
I said on air the other day, 奖项只是别人给予的肯定。自己对自己有没有信心；自己如何肯定自己才是至关重要的。
