IOC

They’re saying, “All eyes are on Singapore, as we witness one of the tightest races ever…”
Truth be told, I’m no sports fan.
Because I’m don’t think I’ll ever attend the Olympics Games (whether as a Participant-obviously cannot right! or Spectator-huh?! go there squeeze ah?), and that the possibility of staging the Olympics in Singapore is basically next to Zero, The IOC Session really doesn’t concern me at all.
And because I can’t speak French (one of the two official languages of the Olympics) and therefore cannot host the Ceremony with Vivien Tan, I don’t see how the results of the 117th IOC can excite me in any way.
Regardless of the location of the 2012 Games, Team Singapore is still gonna put forth their best right?
… Erm. Right!
… Right lah hor?
As much as we should be politically correct and celebrate the Olympics the way it was meant to be, let’s look at the REAL side of things.
Why do people train like mad and stretch their physical limits to the max?
Cos can get medal in Olympics!
Why must get medal in Olympics?
Cos there’re monetary incentives!
Why do rich candidate cities vie to host the Olympics and not direct the same amount of effort doing something about the poverty situation in third world countries?
Cos hosting the Olympics is almost like striking Toto! Got to add a few zeros behind the amount, of course.
That said, a round of applause to the local journalists covering the IOC. I’m sure there must be a handful of people who don’t give a damn as well, but have to diligently digest all the information and regurgitate everything in a understandable manner on Radio, TV, Print and Online.
I was more into the list of luminaries making their way here.
Victoria Beckham: How many LVs and Guccis did you pick up?!
Mrs Clinton: Did you visit Tiffany’s? Must yi si yi si bring something back for Bill right?
Mr Blair: Will you like to… Oh, your wife is here with you huh? Then no need lah…
*So many people come ah?! Terrorists will come or not?*
*Por bee Por bee. Nabeh Osama. Mai sabo hor!*
Although I am not at all interested in the proceedings of the IOC Session, I’m really glad it’s held in Singapore. We are gaining an unmeasurable amount of worldwide media exposure, and lotsa tourist dollars.
Before the 2012 host is announced, Singapore is by far the biggest winner. Not Toto Group 1. But Group 3 isn’t bad right? I sure hope Mr Ng Ser Miang, the man who brought the IOC meeting here, and his team gets their due recognition.
Meanwhile…..

I’m guessing London…
