Miss Teo is now Mrs Chng…
Actually Angie became Mrs Chng after she went to the ROM with Mr Chng. The customary part and dinner was held on Sunday. I’m so happy for her. Never expected Angie to be the 1st in our group to walk down the aisle though. Great to see one more friend safely landed in the arms of her beloved.
I was asked why I wasn’t the host for the night. For the record, I’m not going to host any more dinners. Mainly cos of the mandatory yam-seng part… I’m not going to spoil my image (…or whatever’s left of it) by shouting YAaaaMm… SENG! at the top of my voice three times.
We were rather disappointed when the hosts didn’t do any sabo games on stage. Note to grooms and brides to be: Get a Chinese teacher to host your wedding if you want it to be a peaceful affair.
We decided to take things in our own hands. That began after the bride came back in her 3rd outfit. Yup.. you read it right.. I always see brides in 2 outfits. But Mrs Chng just had to go that extra mile and changed her gown before the dessert was served.
My glass of red wine dedicated to Mrs Chng, was hijacked by Mr Chng. Damn. Xiaolin followed up and asked Mrs Chng to drink some coke, cos she had been drinking alcohol the whole night. That turned out to be a potent cocktail of Chinese tea, coke and soy sauce. Pity the vinegar was cleared along with the sharks’ fin.
As some kiasu guests scrambled to vie for the “First-Out-of-the-Ballroom” title, I went on stage and started to congratulate the couple, and thank them for the sumptous dinner. Subsequently, Mrs Chng was “invited” to sing a song with her band. That followed by another round of drinks, as punishment for forgetting the lyrics to 至少还有你
I won’t be surprised if I’m striked off the guest lists from now on.
