Ultra long One

After 2 days of nua-ing @ home and stretching my broadband connection to its max, I was back in action on Fri.

After the shift, I did the regular voiceover for I-Weekly and went to the Nissan Showroom @ Bt Timah for a meeting, plus a sneak preview of their new Latio series.By the end of the sushi lunch, my eyelids were extremely heavy..

Then I went to Hard Rock Cafe with a pounding heart.. Erm… not becos I jogged there from my office.. But because I was relatively unfamiliar to Yang Kun, a top selling artiste from Mainland China. The head honchos from the Beijing and Shanghai offices were present, all eager to shoot instructions down my throat.. And for the 1st time ever in my career, I got pre-set questions for the press conference. Hmmm.. Guess the “特好!” comment I got, meant they were satisfied.

Yang Kun generated thunderous applause from the audience subsequently at the Live Showcase. 不是猛龙不过江! We were seriously impressed with his vocal powers. Steady!

As it was raining cats and dogs when the show ended, we sought refuge at my hair stylist’s territory where I caught up with the latest gossip with my promo colleague Christina Angrylera. Yup, it’s very important to bond with your colleagues! Hiak hiak..

By sun set, I was once again convinced by the wonders of make up. The dark eyes rings, the big eye bags were visible without any visual aids after I removed my make up. If only I could just fall into a coma on my bed…

Thirty minutes later, I was at Ryan’s POSB Home Loans office where he claimed a customer submitted a false statement! Ha.. The dinner and coffee session just dragged on and on.. Mainly cos I was not that keen to go back to the office again..

Argh.. By the time Cinderalla was scheduled to leave the ball, I was back in the production studios armed with a can of Coke. Targetted to finish up a trailer and 3 station jingles before I emptied the Coke. I failed.

Think I have a problem with setting my priorities.. Hahah.. The 3 station jingles were due for submission on Monday.. Instead of concentrating on that, I was distracted and started to do my new programme stuff instead. So by the time I left the office at 4, I only completed ONE jingle (due on 21st) and plenty of others (due on 28th).. hmmm

After gulping down a Fillet O Fish in 3 mins, I was ready to welcome Ken Chu at J8 on Sat afternoon. Woohoo. This must be one of the few times I see so many flags in the audience.. STB must really give Ken a treat for attracting (rich?!) females who flew in from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Canada, England….

Tut Tut was with me thru out the show. Despite advice from a couple of people, she refused to buy me a Coke, and handed a bottle of Evian instead. Talk about “a friend in need is a friend indeed”I only remembered to shake her hand after the one hour show. HAPPY 27th BIRTHDAY TUT TUT!

After a Thai dinner, the group of 7 zoomed off to Opiglet’s mansion for a round of “CNY Activity”. Hands up, anyone who has not touched a single poker card since Day 1 of CNY…. Anyone?!

As GuiLian began her unbelivable winning streak, cold sweat tricked down 5 foreheads. I was the only one who could fight it out with GL. Unfortunately, my red T-Shirt lost its powers shortly after… As V2 and RM entered the battle, I was sweating with the rest.

GL’s gambling tip: Never show your money! She states her bets verbally, and keeps any winnings immediately. The right pocket of her cargo pants was inflated to its max within a couple of hours.

KAP was the destination for us to drown our sorrows (in coke) Over a late night supper, the horror story marathon which started at Thai Express, picked up its pace. Hmmm.. what a way to celebrate someone’s BD…

If you thought the night was over by 3am… nah… My sms “I’m home. Cya guys online in 20mins…” assembled everyone except HY, to fall in @ MSN. As the troops fell one by one, I was left with the BD girl while we sorted and traded the fotos from both our cameras..

[ well.. with such an event packed saturday....that effectively cancelled my plans to return to the office to finish my remaining TWO jingles...]

Dasmond woke me up with his phone call…..”Eh! what time you coming?!“….

I planned a gathering @ Cleo’s place at 3pm, Sunday. Mainly cos Cleo wasn’t around the 1st few days of CNY. So that was a good time to meet up. Plus Das’ BD was 2 days away..

After getting him a CK thong (the kind where your buttocks are exposed, but not as uncomfy as a g-string), I reported to Cleo’s “Entertainment Centre” about 2 hours behind the scheduled time.

Guess what, I kept to my promise, stayed away from MJ and got myself a permanent seat at the Blackjack Corner.. Hmmm.. I duno what’s gonna happen after CNY.. None of the people I know play BJ on a regular basis after CNY… Maybe I should start convincing them to start playing Monopoly, Mastermind, Old Mad, Donkey, Snap, Happy Family….

Woo It’s past midnight. This will be my last week doing the morning show. Both of us still have leave to clear, so Tues will be the last day you’ll hear Liyi and I on air together.

Someone just remarked earlier “What’s gonna happen to the listeners who are so used to hearing you in the mornings?“If there are any to begin with, I will be extremely grateful for their support. Two years has been a long time. Probably enuff to get used to someone’s voice, and able to pardon a person’s hiccups..

Morning shows are the most important slots of most, if not all stations. That’s why you hear the biggest names, Dicong, FD, Glenn, in the mornings.. I’m so glad to have had this learning and sparing opp with them. From a total morning greenhorn, I guess I have progressed with time. Much more room for improvement, surely.. but definitly better than Feb 2003.

I’m sure the morning belt will be in good hands when I leave. [It'd better be! I dun wanna be trf back so soon!!!]

The countdown begins. 7 days to my new show.=\
